The Bogus Basin Recreation Area is part of the Boise Ridge Mountain Range and is a short drive from my home in Star, Idaho. Bogus Basin was discovered by Alf Engen. Alf was regarded as the father of the American powder method whereby he chose this Basin as his site for skiing in 1939. The ski area is a popular one and is a great place to go when the snow moves in.
In the warmer months Bogus Basin is also a great picnic, hiking and recreation spot. We’re so lucky to have such beautiful scenery here in the Boise Area.
I wanted to memorialize this area with a 16 x 20 Oil on canvas. Hope you enjoy it.
